As we celebrate National Nurses Week, we honour and celebrate the incredible dedication and compassion of nurses worldwide.

Nurses Week begins each year on 6th May and ends on 12th May, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This year’s theme is “Investing in Nurses and the Economic Power of Care” and according to The British Nursing Association, the 2024 theme “underscores a global call to reshape perceptions about nursing. It highlights the need for strategic investment in the profession, recognising that empowering nurses not only benefits patient outcomes but also contributes significantly to the economic and societal well-being”.

Nursing holds a special place in our hearts and Pulse’s Managing Director, Marion, has followed in her mother’s footsteps, ensuring that supporting the NHS is deeply rooted in our company’s values.

This photo shows Marion’s mum in her uniform in the 1960s and Marion recalls that “she really was absolutely passionate about nursing”. Cathy cared for many patients during her time in nursing and went on to lead the way in geriatric care by running nursing homes in Kent. Today, Marion continues her mother’s legacy of compassion and leadership, and she is passionate about providing revenue for the NHS to support projects and initiatives.

This National Nurses Week, we extend our gratitude to all nurses, past and present, for their unwavering dedication and selfless service.
