Campaign Spotlight: MACS Awareness Week 2024

This year, MACS (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia & Coloboma Support) has launched an impactful advertising campaign across 20 hospitals nationwide, with a focus on ophthalmology and eye clinics. Tied in with MACS Awareness Week, which takes place in September, the campaign is designed to increase understanding of rare eye conditions and to promote the charity’s support services.

As part of the initiative, MACS rolled out a series of posters and leaflets to be placed in waiting areas and key locations. Each hospital was chosen for its commitment to eye health and specialist clinics, making them ideal for MACS to increase visibility and tap into local communities.

Messaging focuses on drawing attention to the life-changing impact MACS has on individuals and families living with microphthalmia (small eyes), anophthalmia (absence of one or both eyes), and coloboma (a gap or defect in the structure of the eye). The posters and leaflets feature vibrant images and impactful text to encourage patients, visitors, and NHS staff to learn more about MACS, its mission, and how to access support.
