Celebrated annually on 17th May, World Recycling Day is dedicated to raising global awareness about the vital need to reduce waste, reuse materials, and recycle effectively to protect our natural resources and combat climate change.

At Pulse, sustainability is something that’s considered in the decisions we make every day. As we recognise World Recycling Day on 17th May 2026, it’s an opportunity for us as a business to pause and reflect on the steps we are taking to reduce waste, work more thoughtfully, and make more environmentally conscious choices.

A commitment 365 days a year

Our commitment is 365 days a year, and we constantly challenge ourselves to operate more sustainably, both within our day to day office environment and in the way we work with our partners and suppliers. From encouraging home recycling amongst our teams, to actively reducing unnecessary print waste, sustainability remains an important consideration in our day-to-day operations.

Print is at the core of what we do, which is why choosing suppliers that share our environmental values is essential. We work with trusted print partners who are equally committed to reducing their environmental impact and continually improving their practices to become more sustainable.

Initiatives that help make a difference

Our print suppliers champion the environment through a number of initiatives designed to reduce waste and improve sustainability throughout the production process.

We choose FSC certified print suppliers where possible. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an internationally recognised organisation that promotes responsible forest management, and we actively choose FSC Certified printing wherever possible.

Paper is carefully managed to ensure it is disposed of responsibly and recycled. In addition, during the printing process, advanced systems collect and extract excess paper trimmings during production, which are then sent directly to be shredded and recycled, preventing unnecessary waste from reaching landfill.

Sustainable packaging is an important focus.  When making a delivery, our print suppliers use packaging materials that are FSC-accredited and completely plastic free. Traditional plastic tape has been replaced with recyclable paper tape, further reducing unnecessary plastic use across the supply chain.

As a team, we remain committed to continually reviewing how we can reduce our environmental impact in the office, at home, and when choosing suppliers. We regularly review how we’re doing and look for opportunities to do better.

An important reminder

World Recycling Day is an important reminder that collective action matters. By making more responsible choices in the way we work and the suppliers we choose, we are ensuring that we contribute towards more sustainable outcomes.
