Comprising two key sites, the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and County Hospital in Stafford, the Trust treats over 900,000 people each year for emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care. In addition, the Trust provides specialised services, such as Trauma, for 3 million people in a wider area, including neighbouring counties and North Wales.
In the area of antenatal and maternity, UHNM will be one of the busiest within Pulse’s portfolio, with over 7,500 babies born here every year.
Specialist services include cancer diagnosis and treatment (a state-of-the-art cancer centre opened in 2009 at Royal Stoke and there is a large chemotherapy unit at County), cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and both neonatal and paediatric intensive care.
The Trust employs over 11,000 members of staff.
